Comau has introduced a high-speed, 6-axis articulated robot featuring a payload of 3 kg and a reach of just 630 mm. The third robot within the Racer family, Racer3 is Comau's response to the growing market demand for fast, cost-effective robotic automation within small to medium-sized enterprises.
Built from high-strength aluminum, the Racer3 weighs just 30 kg and can be easily mounted on benches, walls and ceilings or on inclined supports.
"Leveraging Comau's longstanding experience in the automotive industry, the Racer3 combines field-proven technology and enhanced dexterity with a keen focus on safety, design and product aesthetics," said a company spokesperson. "With a compact design, aluminum construction, exceptional stability and a user-friendly control interface, Racer3 is an efficient manipulation and assembly solution that can adapt to any environment. This means that SMEs in virtually any industry can easily automate, with extreme accuracy, precision and intelligence, even the most delicate manufacturing processes."
The Racer3 was created for general industry sectors, including food and beverage, electronics, plastics, metalworking and more. Its rigid construction was built for high precision and repeatability, whereas the hollow body construction optimizes the fluid transition of cables. Racer3 can also be easily transported and installed almost anywhere. Primary applications include assembly, material handling, machine tending, dispensing and pick & place.
