Students enrolled in Hire Technology Advanced Manufacturing & Logistics (AML) at Albion, IN, Central Noble High School recently completed a job shadowing experience with their A+ Partner Busche CNC Machining. Students had a chance to see first hand if a career in manufacturing is right for them.
The class invited Busche President Nick Busche and HR representative Stephanie Black to speak to them prior to the job shadowing. Mr. Busche informed them of the company's success stories and growth they have been experiencing, not only in Albion but also at a plant they have purchased in Alabama. He then had the students complete a Predictive Index (PI) to glean information from them prior to assigning them to a job to follow at their facilities. The PI lists 15 reference patterns and various types of jobs that help students identify potential career pathways. Students were lastly teamed up with personnel from various departments at Busche, including Tool Maker, Manufacturing Engineer, Design Engineer, Purchasing/Materials/Logistics, Tool Grinder, Operations, Quality Engineer, Estimating, Supervision, CMM Programmer, Sales/Program Management and Maintenance.
