Samsung Brings Machine Assembly to the United States
December 1, 2013
Samsung Machine Tools of America, Division of Dynamic International, Inc., has announced its decision to assemble machines on U.S. soil. This demonstrates Samsung's commitment to the U.S. market. Commencing December 1, 2013, Samsung will begin assembly of North America's most popular size, the SL-20, in Pewaukee, WI.
The SL-20 is designed for turning workpieces of up to 11.75" in diameter and 20.5" in length. The SL-20 features an 8" chuck and 2.6" bar capacity.
"We are maintaining focus to assemble products our consumers want and are confident in our decision to start with the SL-20. Our mission at Samsung Machine Tools is to locate, secure and deliver the most appropriate machine tools for the job. By assembling in America, we are decreasing lead time while ensuring Samsung customers the continued quality, precision and value they have come to expect in their machine purchase," said Richard Layo, President of Dynamic International.
"With parts inventory worth over $2.5 million and now assembling the SL-20 in Wisconsin, Samsung further confirms its commitment to North American consumers by providing American assembled quality machines and excellent customer support," said a company spokesperson. "This decision will serve as a springboard for Samsung's long term goal to assemble its entire line of SL models in America and establish Samsung Machine Tools as a truly world class global machine producer."
