Mitsui Seiki USA Increases Capacity

Mitsui Seiki announced that it has completed Phase 1 of its USA sales and service expansion. According to the company, this major company enhancement is in direct response to market requests for additional resources to accommodate Mitsui Seiki's growing success in key industry sectors.

"With the growth in North American manufacturing, particularly in aerospace, energy, mold and die and medical sectors, we have been enjoying a growing demand for our high level machining consulting and equipment," said Tom Dolan, Vice President. "Existing and potential Mitsui Seiki users are experiencing an increased demand from their customers for increased capacity, improved machining, better performance, greater precision and reduced manufacturing costs. The rapid progress in these market segments meant we needed to be at the ready, and we are. We have realigned our sales territories to better allocate existing internal resources, and doubled the front end staff by hiring experienced manufacturing people. We have also expanded our application engineering team by 30% to respond to the growing demand for project technical support and pre-production engineering assistance. Additionally, in an effort to get our clients into production more effectively, we have increased the number of direct employees in our post-sales service and installation departments."

Further, as the sub-contract machining customers respond to their own market conditions, Mitsui Seiki has proactively improved the delivery lead times for its machinery by significantly increasing the inventory of the company's best-selling machine tools. According to the company, this important change will help its customers achieve their overall investment plans and aid in shortening their time to production demands.
