Okuma's THINC-OSP P300 CNC Control
Okuma America Corporation offers the THINC-OSP P300 control. Built on the open-architecture THINC platform, the OSP P300 uses industry-standard components designed to simplify use and eliminate downtime.
"The THINC-OSP P300 was developed by watching the way machinists actually operate multi-tasking machines, in an effort to create smoother, more effective ways of producing parts," said a company spokesperson. "This allows operators at any level, from beginner to experienced, to easily operate a complete multi-tasking machine and make full use of the functions. This control is now task-based rather than mode-based, enabling easier operations and viewing."
According to Okuma, features of the THINC-OSP P300 include:
- More powerful dual core processor and multi-functioning hard drive
- Easy tool preparation - multiple tool functions populate from one database
- Advanced one-touch IGF
- Easy operation for multi-tasking setup and use with collision avoidance and tool management.
"The PC platform allows THINC to keep pace with business technology enabling continual upgrades without a complete control overhaul," said the spokesperson. "Every element has been designed so the control can continue to grow with PC technology and still perform reliably."
Hands-on, self-guided "Try-It" demonstrations on the THINC-OSP P300 are available at the Partners in THINC facility in Charlotte.
