OPENcontrol family is a modular configurable system designed to provide flexibility in terms of the CNC control unit, computational power, servo-drives, management, I/O devices and fieldbus protocols.
The entry level configuration is based on OPEN-XS CNC black box with options of EtherCAT, Analog, Pulse & Direction and MechatrolinkIII to manage the servo drive. There are several types of bridges available, including a range of digital and analog I/Os. For this configuration, the OPEN-XS COMPACT module (a panel including OPEN-XS, monitor, keyboard, touch-pad and control panel) is often used.
"The most used configuration includes OPEN-M CNC equipped with Mechatrolink III axes board to manage the reliable and powerful regenerative YASKAWA Sigma 5 SD modular servo-drives," said a company spokesperson. "An industrial PC is used to run the user interface. OPENconsole COMPACT (monitor, keyboard, touchpad and control panel) and OPENrio I/O modules complete the configuration.
"Top range systems use OPEN-XL CNC, a dual core CNC that can run two operating systems (Windows CE for the real-time SW on one core and WES2009 for the HMI on the second core). The high-end OPENconsole operator panel, YASKAWA Sigma 5 SD drives and the OPENrio modular I/O system provide the look, performance and modularity required by a top-level configuration.
"Featuring full integration for this system using OS-Wire, the consolidated OSAI fast digital fieldbus manages the OD600 servo-drives. The OPEN-M CNC is equipped with OPENconsole COMPACT and OPENrio."
