Metalworking Filtration System Chosen
July 1, 2013
Filter Technology, LLC, a designer and builder of high performance metalworking filtration systems was chosen by Allied Machine and Engineering Corporation, Dover, OH, to engineer and supply a central filtration system for its new expansion.
The high capacity system, to be delivered later this year, will be capable of filtering and returning clean fluid at a rate of 2,800 GPM to the cutter grinding machines at the Allied plant, according to Randal Armstrong, Filter Technology President.
Last year, Allied Machine and Engineering Corporation, a producer of cutting tools, announced a significant facility expansion, and the filter technology system is part of that major project. "We are gratified by the confidence Allied has placed in our technology," said Armstrong.
"Capable of continuously delivering clean coolant at clarities of less than 1 micron, our systems remove all of the particulate, fines and abrasives before returning the fluid back to the grinding wheel at the required pressure. The collected sludge is discharged as a dry cake for easy reclamation of carbide and valuable materials. The high capacity filtering and the ability to reclaim the materials are of particular interest to Allied," said Armstrong.
