Takumi USA's U600 is part of the U Series line, which features 5-axis machining centers engineered to achieve high performance for die/mold, aerospace and other high-speed applications that require tighter tolerances. The U600 has X-, Y- and Z-axis travels that measure 25.98" x 40.16" x 19.69", rotary A-axis travel of +30°/-110° and rotary C-axis travel of 360°.
The ladder design on the double-column U600 prevents deflection and reduces the distance from the column to the spindle, which increases rigidity and provides highly accurate 3D surfacing. Additionally, the one-piece, double-column design absorbs the thrust forces of fast cutting feeds while delivering high quality part finishes.
"Compared to ball-type linear rails, the U600's roller-type linear ways support faster feedrates and smoother linear motion due to larger contact areas," said a company spokesperson. "All mating surfaces are hand-scraped for fit, resulting in great geometries of all axes."
The U600 is equipped with the HEIDENHAIN TNC 640 control, which features optimized motion control, short block processing times and special control strategies.
