Explore Changes Brought on by New Manufacturing Technologies

In "Smart Manufacturing, The Lean Six Sigma Way," Dr. Anthony Tarantino explores the ways the Fourth Industrial Revolution is dramatically changing the way products are being manufactured across the world and shows how it will revitalize manufacturing in North America and Europe.

The author, along with a group of 15 industry experts, examines the role and impact of a variety of new smart technologies, including industrial IoT, computer vision, mobile and edge computing, 3D printing, robots, big data analytics and the cloud.

The book also discusses the role smart technologies will play in improving:

  • Career opportunities for women in manufacturing
  • Cyber security, supply chain risk and logistics resiliency
  • Workplace health, safety and security
  • Life on the manufacturing floor
  • Operational efficiencies and customer satisfaction.

Tarantino has led over 30 Lean Six Sigma projects as a Master Black Belt for Cisco Systems, IBM and KPMG Consulting. For the last five years he has supported smart manufacturing start-ups focused on computer vision. He has been an adjunct faculty member at Santa Clara University for over a decade developing lean/continuous improvement training and certification programs for students and corporate clients.
