From a metal stamping company that supplied two-thirds of the world's tape reel packages with stored information to now a technology manufacturer that stores information in the cloud, ATEK Companies is celebrating 75 years of innovation and growth.
In 1946, the year following the end of World War II, the company operated in Minneapolis. While running that business, Fred Bieber had the opportunity to buy it out. Today, Bieber's son, Bill Bieber, is chairman of the board and one of the three co-owners of the company, along with Mark Osmanksi and Kay Phillips.
ATEK Companies includes ATEK Access Technologies, ATEK Metal Technologies, Solar Plastics and Fluidall. Though the locations are concentrated in the upper Midwest, ATEK products make their way all around the globe. The ATEK family of products serves diverse industries including motorsports, transportation, industrial, agriculture, medical, military, government, oil and gas and more.
"As an entrepreneurial company, we have evolved with the world's ever-changing technology and invested strategically many times during the last 75 years to meet our customers' needs and the markets they serve," said Bieber. "Throughout the last seven and a half decades we have utilized leading-edge technologies to deliver the highest quality products and services, but our most important asset in our business is our people."
Today, ATEK employs over 500 people with a focus on the next 75 years of innovation. "Each ATEK company has products that could take us to new heights," said Osmanski. "We are also always keeping our eyes open for acquisitions that will complement our current companies."
