HFO Trident’s Haas Event March 17
March 17, 2016HFO Trident will be hosting a daylong Turning Symposium aimed at helping New England manufacturers generate more profit. The event, Turning Profits on a Haas, will take place Thursday, March 17 at HFO Trident’s Tech Center in Windsor, CT.
“Because turning technology has evolved into a platform for both turning and milling, we felt a need to host an event that shares ways in which manufacturers can leverage these modern turning centers to reduce set-up time and improve productivity,” said Nick Schuchardt, President of HFO Trident.
From the Haas Factory in southern California, Product Specialist Milton Ramirez will be on hand to share the latest technological advancements now available from Haas, as well as some that are coming soon. Ramirez will also be conducting several Turning Center “deminars” (seminar and demonstration) during the daylong symposium.
The event will showcase the Haas DS-30SSY dual spindle turning center with Y-axis and live tooling. The DS-30SSY features a 30 HP main spindle, 20 HP secondary spindle and a 24-station turret. Capacity for the DS-30SSY is 16" x 23" (406 x 584 mm) with 31.75" (806 mm) of swing.
Two additional Haas turning centers with live tooling, which will also be under power, are the 15 HP Haas ST-10 with 1.75" (44 mm) of bar capacity and 16.25" (413 mm) of swing and the 20 HP Haas ST-20 with 2.0" (51 mm) of bar capacity and 31.75" (806 mm) of swing. The Haas TL-2 Tool Room Lathe will also be featured within the 20,000 sq. ft. Tech Center.
Additional presentations to be made during Turning Profits on a Haas will come from a select group of tooling, accessories and software partners. Each presentation will be focused on increasing productivity with modern turning centers.
