ECM Hosts CMS Certification Training Class for 3-D Metrology
March 1, 2016
ECM - Global Measurement Solutions (ECM) hosted the first-ever Metrology CMS Certification Class for students from Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL). The CMS Certification Training Class course is designed to assist and inform students in the topics covered within the Coordinate Metrology Society's (CMS) Level One - Certification for 3-D Metrology. At ECM, learning is provided in the form of a presentation and workbook where discussion is a primary focus. Question and answer sessions take place during the course to ensure knowledge and understanding.
The CMS Certification Examinations were first introduced three years ago by the Coordinate Metrology Society at its annual metrology conference. In response to requests from CMS members to properly prepare for the exam prior to taking it at the annual Coordinate Metrology Systems Conference (CMSC), ECM and The National Physical Laboratory (NPL) partnered to create a CMS Certification Training Course. This course is a 2.5 day class that reviews the five key knowledge areas in the exam. As a CMS approved proctor site, ECM also provides the ability for students to take the exam online during the afternoon of the third day. "This is another great milestone for both ECM and CMS alike. ECM has been involved in the CMS Certification Committee since the beginning, and it is rewarding to see the most recent developments with our first onsite test facilitation and the administering of the training course developed through our partnership with NPL. This certification process validates the knowledge of experts in our field," said Gary Confalone, President and CEO of ECM Global Measurement Solutions.
