New Bicarbonate Recycling Process
August 1, 2015
Ardleigh Minerals Inc., a specialist recycler for the aerospace and thermal spray industries, has developed a process to recycle spent sodium bicarbonate blast media.
According to the company, the process converts spent bicarbonate, resulting from sodium bicarbonate (or soda) blasting, into a usable product, meeting pollution control standards. It utilizes the entire spent bicarbonate and no residues remain. Items using soda blasting include wheels, deswirlers, fuel nozzles, and other component parts. Materials may be shipped to Ardleigh in drums or bulk bags. After recycling, the company issues a certificate of recycling.
"A number of our customers have requested that we recycle bicarbonate for them. After several years of R&D, Ardleigh has developed a process that meets their needs," said Ernest Q. Petrey Jr., Ardleigh's Sales and Marketing Manager.
