Lincoln Electric Acquires Process Equipment Company
August 1, 2015
The Lincoln Electric Company has acquired all intellectual property related to laser welding and marking systems produced by Process Equipment Company (PECo), located in Tipp City, OH. Going forward, the company's Wayne Trail subsidiary - which produces a full line of laser welding, cutting, ablation, cladding and marking solutions - will assume responsibility for servicing and supporting the installed base of PECo laser welding and marking systems. Wayne Trail has also expanded its existing team of laser processing experts by hiring key PECo personnel, which will enhance the transition for existing customers.
"Wayne Trail is fully prepared to meet the needs of the automotive power train laser welding and processing industry, both domestically and internationally," said John A. Campbell, General Manager of Wayne Trail. "We have already been awarded laser welding system contracts from transmission gear manufacturers and are currently developing solutions for other power train components, including transfer cases and drive axles."
"We are excited to expand our portfolio of automation solutions for automotive manufacturers," said Steve Hedlund, President of Global Automation Solutions for Lincoln Electric. "Wayne Trail is uniquely positioned to help customers adopt new laser process technologies to meet changing industry demands and requirements."
