5th Axis Partners with Machining Cloud GmbH

5th Axis, a supplier of workholding products for 3-, 4- and 5-axis machines, and Machining Cloud GmbH, product data content provider for the digital shop, have entered into a new partnership under which 5th Axis plans to publish its workholding product data onto the Machining Cloud, thereby reducing the time associated with finding, selecting, purchasing and using its products.
Through the Machining Cloud, 5th Axis product data and CAD models will be readily available for its customers to feed their CAM systems, simulation software and other data-hungry shop software. Using the Machining Cloud tablet and desktop apps, 5th Axis customers will have access to a rich set of software features including Selector, Configurator, Job Management, Reporting and Commerce.
"While customers will see a big productivity improvement using the apps for choosing a cutting tool and workholding solution for a given job, there is an even bigger benefit from the Machining Cloud's ability to feed the product data directly into their shop software," said Pierre-Francois Tavard, Cloud Evangelist for the Machining Cloud GmbH.
