Laser Measuring Technology for Cutting Tools

Rollomatic, a machine tool manufacturer based in Le Landeron, Switzerland, is introducing new software for the laser measuring device LS-II for measuring rotary cutting tools. "The strategy with this new device is to offer a reliable and highly accurate measuring technology for variable and progressive helix cutting tools such as high performance endmills, drills and tools with radial O.D. relief. Equally suited, this measuring device will gauge the diameter and roundness of precision pins, cutting tools blanks and other rotary components.

- Measures diameter and TIR
- Endmills, drills and round parts
- Uneven number of teeth
- Variable/progressive helix tools
- Straight, radial relief and roundness
- Automatic drive
- Includes SPC and other statistical data.

- Resolution 0.0001 mm or 4 millions inch
- Repeatability standard deviation 0.0003 mm or 12 millions inch
- Size dia. 0.075 - 20 mm or .003" to 3/4"
- Shank size dia. 2 - 20 mm (.080" - 3/4")
- Number of teeth 0 to 12.
