Swiss-Type Lathe Now Offers B-Axis and Removable Guide Bushing
September 1, 2014
Founded in 1984, Marubeni Citizen-Cincom (MCC) is celebrating 30 years providing manufacturers with high tech, high quality machine tools. To show how Citizen machines have evolved over 30 years, MCC will display a 30-year-old F16 along with current models, including the next level in the Cincom L Series Innovation lineup, the L20 Type XII.
The L20 Type XII features the all-new B-axis controllable rotary tools for simultaneous complex machining. This additional axis of control facilitates drilling and milling of angled features and contours without retooling or resetting, with a total range of 135° (from 90° to -45°). This allows the rotary tools to be used for both front and back machining. The Type XII also offers the flexibility of operating with or without the guide bushing. Install the guide bushing when machining long, thin workpieces and remove it again for machining shorter pieces or when short bar remnants are required. Other upgrades that are standard on the L20 XII include:
- Spindle through-hole diameter increased to 26 mm
- Faster spindle speed of the gang rotary tools (now 6,000 RPM)
- Spindle speed of back tool post rotary tools increased to 7,500 RPM
- Increased gang tool post from 25 to 26 tools, raising the total possible tools from 39 to 40
- Decreased power consumption (was 8 kVA, now 7.3 kVA).
Visitors to the MCC booth will see the latest line of CNC automatic lathes and turning centers from Citizen. Bar loaders, accessories and automation will also be on display.
