Two electronics techs from T. J. Snow Company of Chattanooga, TN, recently flew the Mooney airplane they use for service calls to the Mooney factory in Kerrville, TX, where it was built. Randy Darby and Ray Michelena routinely use a company plane to offer fast-response service on resistance welders of all types.
The purpose of this trip was to upgrade the electronic controls on a resistance spot welder used in manufacturing the speedy single engine Mooneys, which have been built in the Texas Hill Country for decades.
After being shut down for five years, the Mooney production line was recently reactivated and much of the factory's production machinery is being upgraded or replaced.
T. J. Snow is a manufacturer and remanufacturer of resistance welders and the company distributes all related supplies and accessories. In addition, service and training is offered.
