Automating Routine EHS Reporting Tasks with SharePoint
September 1, 2014
A new application brief details how manufacturers can save time, money and effort by automating the collection and reporting tasks involved in routine inspections with Microsoft SharePoint and mobile devices.
"Environmental health and safety (EHS) programs require routine inspections - and most EHS managers feel (if not suffer under) the administrative burden of manually transcribing and entering stacks of inspection forms into Word documents, Excel spreadsheets and Access databases for recording and reporting purposes. A software solution, offering an array of flexibility and support, lies in Microsoft SharePoint, a web-based collaboration platform that is already embedded within most manufacturers' IT infrastructure," said a company spokesperson.
The new application brief, titled, "Automate Routine Inspections: SharePoint & Mobile Devices Make it Easy," discusses how managers can make the move to automating the collection, processing and reporting of routine simple inspections - and save significant costs and time. According to the company, the brief shows how, by utilizing SharePoint and mobile devices, the former burden of administrative oversight can become a problem easily solved.
The brief is provided by Environmental Health & Engineering (EH&E), which provides environmental and engineering consulting services.
