SYNAOS Scales North American Operations as Demand for Interoperable Intralogistics Accelerates

SYNAOS, a provider of intralogistics orchestration software, is expanding its North American operations in response to growing demand for interoperable, vendor-agnostic automation across manufacturing and warehouse environments.

The announcement follows SYNAOS' recent collaboration with Rockwell Automation and its autonomous mobile robot brand OTTO Motors, focused on advancing the VDA 5050 standard for mixed-fleet interoperability.

"As multivendor automation becomes more common in North America, operators are moving beyond isolated robot deployments toward integrated systems that require centralized coordination across technologies, workflows, and sites," said a company spokesperson. "This shift is particularly visible in automotive and industrial manufacturing environments, where multiple automation systems must operate in parallel under increasing performance and scalability requirements."

From Pilot Projects to Scalable Automation Architectures

SYNAOS is already supporting industrial operations across North America, enabling manufacturers and logistics operators to coordinate heterogeneous fleets of mobile robots, forklifts, and manual transport processes within a unified platform.

The company's footprint includes multiple live deployments across U.S. production and logistics sites, particularly in the automotive and industrial manufacturing sectors. These deployments span key industrial regions including the Midwest and Southern United States and support high-volume transport operations in complex, multivendor environments.

In several cases, SYNAOS is deployed across multiple facilities for the same customer, reflecting a shift from isolated pilot projects toward scalable, enterprise-wide automation architectures.

These implementations highlight a common challenge: as automation programs expand, managing multiple systems, vendors, and workflows becomes increasingly complex.

SYNAOS addresses this by providing a central orchestration layer that connects, coordinates, and optimizes intralogistics operations across technologies, sites, and use cases.

Closing the Interoperability Gap in North America

"As multivendor automation becomes the norm, North American operators are facing growing pressure to integrate diverse systems without increasing complexity or operational risk," noted a spokesperson.

Built around open standards such as VDA 5050, the SYNAOS platform enables:

  • Central fleet management across multiple robot brands
  • Real-time transport orchestration and traffic control
  • Integration with MES, WMS, and ERP systems
  • Scalable deployment across brownfield and greenfield environments.

Rather than relying on isolated control systems, SYNAOS provides a vendor-agnostic platform layer that supports long-term flexibility and investment protection.

Expanding an Interoperable Ecosystem

SYNAOS' North American expansion is supported by a growing network of global automation partners, including companies such as KUKA and Daifuku, as well as its recent collaboration with OTTO Motors. This ecosystem enables customers to combine best-in-class technologies while maintaining centralized control across heterogeneous fleets and operational environments.

Strengthening Local Presence

To support accelerating rollouts across North American manufacturing sites, particularly among automotive OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers, SYNAOS is expanding its regional team and its network of integration partners.

As part of this effort, SYNAOS has brought on David Bader to lead its U.S. growth initiatives. With extensive experience in cloud and industrial technology, including previous roles at Amazon Web Services, he will focus on scaling customer engagements and partner ecosystems across the region.

"In North America, we are seeing a clear shift from standalone automation projects to fully integrated, multivendor environments, with more ambitious implementation timelines than in other markets," said Tobias Gagern, CEO of SYNAOS LLC. "The challenge is no longer whether to automate, but how to orchestrate complex operations at scale. That is where interoperability becomes critical, and where SYNAOS provides a central platform that brings everything together."
