KAAST Machine Tools offers a lineup of CNC wire EDM and sinker EDM systems designed to support modern manufacturing operations with reliable performance, stable processing, and ?exible machining capability. The company's EDM systems are used for tooling, die work, cavity machining, and the production of detailed components across multiple industries.
The W-EDM CNC series combines advanced CNC controls with precision cutting capability for shops producing detailed geometries and tight-tolerance components. The noncontact machining process minimizes stress on the workpiece and allows manufacturers to machine hardened materials and delicate features that can be difficult to produce using traditional cutting methods.
The W-EDM CNC series incorporates automatic corner control functions to maintain geometric precision during intricate cutting operations. Automatic wire tension monitoring helps support stable machining conditions and consistent results throughout production. The machines utilize advanced 64-bit CNC controls with integrated 2D and 3D graphics. Multi-axis machining capability, precision ball screws, and linear guideways help support demanding cutting applications.
Optional automatic wire threading supports unattended machining and helps reduce downtime during production runs. The high-quality AWT system utilizes copper wire ranging from 0.006" to 0.012" in diameter with a 1 mm (0.039") waterjet. Additional features-such as automatic dielectric monitoring and integrated communication capabilities, including USB, Ethernet, and RS-232 connectivity-allow the systems to integrate efficiently into modern manufacturing environments.
For cavity machining applications, KAAST also offers its S-EDM CNC and Z-EDM sinker EDM systems. These machines utilize spark erosion technology to produce detailed cavities, ?ne surface ?nishes, and intricate internal features for tooling and industrial component production.
The S-EDM series features a rigid FC35-grade cast iron machine frame and reinforced worktable construction designed to support stable operation and heavy workpiece capacity. Powerful ?ushing capabilities within the work area help improve machining efficiency and overall process control during operation.
An integrated material database allows operators to quickly retrieve machining parameters for a variety of applications and materials. Users can also access and adjust technical parameters during the erosion process to optimize machining conditions and surface ?nish requirements. KAAST also offers ZNC versions that provide controlled Z-axis functionality for additional operational ?exibility.
Standard features across the KAAST EDM lineup include user-friendly CNC controls, stainless steel dielectric tanks with ?ltration systems, industrial-grade machine construction, and precision guideway systems intended to support long-term performance.
Optional con?gurations, including orbital heads, CAD/CAM integration, dielectric cooling systems, and automation packages, allow manufacturers to con?gure EDM systems based on speci?c production requirements and application demands.
