Pickit 3D has announced the Pickit 4.0 release, a solution for flexible, high-performance industrial automation with 3D robot vision. This major update features improvements in all of its key components, including software, hardware, and services.
The Pickit 4.0 release introduces a simpler, more cost-effective licensing model with four defined options tailored to different automation needs. Each comes with a streamlined user experience and bespoke functionalities. This approach makes the solution easier to use and advantageous, as customers only pay for what they need. The new licenses are Pickit Find (single part location for vision-guided operations), Pickit Lite (semi-structured picking of stacked or layered parts), Pickit Plus (robust bin picking of randomly oriented parts) and Pickit Depal (depalletizing of layered goods like boxes or bags).
The 4.0 release features new processors for greater detection speeds, up to 61% faster than previous generations. They include native multicamera support and a GPU by default for enhanced processing power.
Moreover, the platform aligns with Pickit's camera-agnostic strategy by onboarding two new high-definition cameras, the S-HD2-C300 and XS-HD2-C100. The XS-HD2-C100 offers up to 0.1 mm robot guidance accuracy, the highest in the Pickit portfolio, and suited for small-scale and precise guidance applications.
Pickit 4.0 introduces a new software core designed to stay up to date with security fixes and improvements. This helps ensure the Pickit system remains protected, stable, and compatible with future technologies. With the new long-term support schemes, users gain access to ongoing software updates and maintenance for up to five years, extending the system's lifespan and reliability. The long-term support lets customers tailor the scope of support, delivering a better return on investment (ROI).
