Trelleborg Facilities Gain IATF Certification in the US

Trelleborg Sealing Solutions has gained International Automotive Task Force (IATF) Certification to perform subassembly work for automotive manufacturing customers and Tier 1 suppliers at its ServicePLUS Centers located in Menomonee Falls, WI, Vancouver, WA, Ontario, CA, as well as at its Logistics Center in Fort Wayne, IN.

David Kaley, Business Development Manager, Auto, Truck & Transportation, Trelleborg Sealing Solutions, said: "IATF certifications are important to the automotive industry for more than just quality assurance. When suppliers meet these standards, they directly help original equipment manufacturers reduce their costs and potential costs to the final consumer."

Kaley continued, "While many suppliers have IATF certified facilities, few also offer value-added custom manufacturing services to customers. Trelleborg's IATF certified locations do custom assemblies for multiple part streams that decrease operational costs. This sets Trelleborg apart from many of its competitors by offering customer service that exceeds expectations."

IATF 16949:2016 is the International Standard for Automotive Quality Management Systems. It emphasizes the development of a process-oriented quality management system that provides for continual improvement, defect prevention and reduction of variation and waste in the supply chain.

The four newly certified sites join 17 other Trelleborg Sealing Solutions IATF certified ServicePLUS and manufacturing locations in the Americas and Europe. With the acquisition of Minnesota Rubber & Plastics, Trelleborg adds five additional IATF certified facilities in North America and China for a total of 26 IATF certified locations.
