Mazak offers the INTEGREX i-100HS Multi-Tasking machine. The small-footprint machine provides simultaneous 5-axis capabilities along with versatility, high precision and throughput in complex part applications. The machine combines the abilities of a high-powered turning center and full-function machining center to produce small- and medium-sized workpieces in single set-ups.
The machine employs a main and second spindle headstock with a 203 mm (6") chuck and 61 mm (2.4") diameter bore mounted on a 11 kW (15 HP) 6,000-RPM integrated spindle motor for handling a wide range of applications, from heavy-duty cutting at low speed to high-speed cutting of nonferrous materials.
A vertically mounted milling spindle provides 24 kW (32 HP), 12,000 RPM and a rotating B-axis range of -30" to +240". A roller cam drive for the B-axis offers higher accuracy and rigidity while providing zero backlash. A 36-tool (72-tool optional) magazine allows for fast tool changes and provides ample tooling for continuous part processing.
The INTEGREX i-100HS provides a Y-axis travel of 210 mm (8.27") and vertical X-axis of 450 mm (17.72"). The machine accommodates parts up to 500 mm (19.69") in diameter with a maximum machining length of 854 mm (36.62").
The INTEGREX i-100HS uses the latest Mazak control technology, the MAZATROL SmoothAi that helps provide productivity advantages in demanding machining operations. "It ensures the shortest possible machining cycle times, especially in fine increment programs for simultaneous 5-axis operations and free-form die-mold machining. The control incorporates a wide variety of advanced programming functions that allow it to offer complete ease of use and ensure high-speed, high-accuracy machining performance," said a company spokesperson.
