High-Efficiency Milling

GF Machining Solutions' Mikron MILL E 500 U is engineered to deliver competitive costs per part. This high-efficiency 5-axis milling solution offers efficient production of specialized parts in small to medium batches for the automotive, energy and power generation industries, as well as for general machining applications.

Built with a stiff, stable cast iron C-frame machine base, the Mikron MILL E 500 U features large linear guideways and a larger ballscrew in the X and Y axes for increased rigidity. A double side-supported rotary table with enlarged swivel range of +120' to -65' supports heavy parts up to 992 lbs. (450 kg) to manufacture a wider range of parts and tools.

The Mikron MILL E 500 U uses a 20,000-RPM Step-Tec spindle that tackles rough milling and drilling operations. A 20% increase in chip removal rate over previous machine generations reduces manufacturing costs by 15%, the company reported. For even greater levels of productivity, integrated automation allows manufacturers to maximize machining hours and lower operating costs. Larger automation systems such as the System 3R WorkPartner 1+ can enable lights-out unattended operations.
