Wisconsin Oven Ships Continuous Conveyor Furnace to Firearms Manufacturer

Wisconsin Oven Corporation has announced the shipment of a continuous conveyor furnace to a leading firearms manufacturer. The oven will be used for heat treating aluminum parts prior to quenching.

This industrial conveyor furnace has a maximum temperature rating of 1,110 F and interior chamber dimensions of 42 W x 30 L x 1 H. The oven features 8" thick plate construction and two (2) zones of control.

The parts are manually loaded onto the flat wire belt conveyor and transported through both zones of the oven. The recirculation system utilizes two 56,000 CFM blowers for a total of 112,000 CFM for 889 CFM per square foot. The part heat-up and soak times were verified with temperature uniformity survey to guarantee the parts were within +/- 10 F for 15 minutes.

This belt conveyor furnace is equipped with the DataSense Technologies IoT based Performance Monitoring System. This system collects information from predictive maintenance sensors to track the performance and health of a variety of components and conditions on the equipment. Thresholds are set around alarm conditions to notify the Wisconsin Oven service team.

"At Wisconsin Oven we provide custom design solutions to meet each of our customer's unique requirements. This conveyor furnace was designed to sit at an incline, which allows for the quench tank to fit under the conveyor discharge end," said Mike Grande, Vice President of Sales.

Features of this conveyor furnace include:

  • DataSense Technologies IoT based Performance Monitoring System
  • Heavy duty construction with quality components
  • High volume airflow
  • Uniform heating rates
  • Two zones of control.

This conveyor furnace was fully factory tested and adjusted prior to shipment from the facility. All safety interlocks were checked for proper operation and the equipment was operated at the normal and maximum operating temperatures. An extensive quality assurance check list was completed to ensure the equipment met all Wisconsin Oven quality standards.
