Mazak's Kentucky-built VCN-570C Vertical Machining Center (VMC) is designed to process large or multiple small workpieces in single machine set-ups.
For fast, accurate hole threading, Mazak's Smooth Synchronous Tapping Software is offered as part of the MAZATROL SmoothG control. With the software, the machine generates faster acceleration/deceleration with maximum spindle torque utilization. It eliminates overshooting at the bottom of a hole, and a faster time constant reduces overall tapping cycle times.
Mazak's MAZATROL SmoothG CNC offers the flexibility of EIA/ISO programming as well as MAZATROL conversational programming that makes it easy to generate programs for quick changeover or handle high-production part applications. The control features advanced hardware and software functions such as INTELLIGENT POCKET MILLING software, which enables faster metal removal rates in recessed pockets, along with High-Gain Feed Forward Control, VARIABLE ACCELERATION CONTROL and SMOOTH Machining Configuration (SMC) for high-speed machining applications.
Smooth Engraving Software allows easy engraving of letters, numbers and symbols on a workpiece without the need of a CAM system to generate the part program off line.
The VCN-570C features a 15,000 RPM, 30 HP spindle. For extended operation, the machine is equipped with a servo-driven automatic tool changer (ATC) and tool magazine storage capacity of 30 tools. Mazak also offers a 48- and 60-tool capacity as optional.
The VCN-570C's 22.44" (570 mm) Y-axis stroke and 51.2" (1,300 mm) operator door opening further increases potential part size, ease of part loading and processing versatility. The machine comes equipped with a standard crane access door to allow loading of large, heavy parts more efficiently. The XYZ axes feature rapid traverse rates of 1,654 IPM.
