Methods Machine Tools Acquires Koch Machine Tool

Methods Machine Tools, Inc. has announced the completion of its acquisition of Texas-based Koch Machine Tool. Methods announced in October 2021 its intent to purchase Koch to grow its reach into the regional machining market as part of its national expansion strategy.

"This is a big day for Methods. We open the New Year formally welcoming the terrific Koch team and their legacy of technical and service expertise to Methods. This expansion is an important step in our long-term investment in the Texas/Louisiana region to accelerate our national growth and bring our industry-leading portfolio to more customers," said Mark Wright, Methods President and CEO.

Effective immediately, Methods assumes ownership of Koch's facilities in Texas, as it pursues new opportunities across the region's diversified industries. Existing Koch customers now benefit from Methods' national ecosystem and can engage Methods directly for ongoing and new purchase ordering and services.

Mike Koch will retain the title of Co-General Manager of these locations for a period of three years to facilitate the acquisition.

"In joining Methods, we can expand on our more than 50 years of business in this territory with greater investment in Texas and Louisiana, with the same focus to help our customers solve and service their most complex business needs," said Koch.

Don Miller, a 35-year industry veteran and most recently general manager of Methods' Illinois and Wisconsin offices, transitions to Texas as the other Co-General Manager to oversee the expansion of this territory.

Under Miller's seven-plus years of leadership, the Illinois and Wisconsin offices returned to profitability early on, then focused on market share growth. The territory is poised for further expansion, in part due to new investment in a state-of-the-art facility that opened in Gilberts, IL, last year. Miller now returns to Texas, where he earned his B.S. in Engineering Technology/Industrial Distribution from Texas A&M University.

"I am thrilled to welcome Koch Machine team members to Methods and for them to join us at a very exciting time for the Texas/Louisiana region," said Miller. "Methods has the right products for these markets. In addition to harnessing the Koch legacy, we will aggressively pursue additional talented sales, service and application engineering personnel so we can help existing and new customers realize the value of their partnership with Methods."

As part of the acquisition, Methods will represent select Weiler machine tools within its expanding product portfolio.
