Machining Concepts Receives Aerospace Manufacturing Certification

Machining Concepts Inc. recently passed its audit for AS9100D certification, which allows it to expand its CNC machining services into critical components for the aerospace industry.

"The AS9100D certification demands unwavering quality, as there is no room for error when manufacturing flight critical components," said a company spokesperson. "Machining Concepts already had a strong quality base, possessing ISO certifications for general quality systems and medical device manufacturing. Even still, much hard work and preparation went into turning the 27 year old business into one capable of achieving the stringent quality standards of the aerospace industry."

Robbie Willats, head of Quality Management Systems at Machining Concepts, said, "It took every employee coming together as a team to achieve this goal. I feel confident that our processes are sustainable, and can be easily maintained even while adding new members to the company."

Machining Concepts looks to use its AS9100D certification to grow its presence as a Tier 3 Boeing Supplier, and bring in more opportunities for the Erie manufacturing community.
