Atlanta Gear Works Grows Engineering Department

John B. Conway

Atlanta Gear Works has grown its engineering department by hiring Mechanical Engineer John B. Conway, BME, MBA, MSF. Conway is the third generation of the Conway family to work for the company that was founded by his father and grandfather in 1988.

A graduate of Auburn University, Conway spent his college summers as an AGW engineering intern, working in all parts of the business from engineering and production to field service at major manufacturing plants throughout the Southeast.

In addition to his practical experience, Conway served in graduate school on two award-winning simulation teams and worked as a graduate assistant at the Auburn University Office of Innovation performing patent research. He also brings financial experience from training as a financial analyst with a major national investment firm.

In its 34,000 sq. ft. plant, Atlanta Gear Works has a full in-house machine shop where it cuts spur, helical, double-helical and worm gears; rebuilds all brands of gears and gearboxes; and creates new gears and gearboxes from both samples and prints.
