DeskArtes has released Expert Series 12.0, a complete solution for AM and 3D Printing data preparation, including AM Expert, a tool for automatic AM process selection.
DeskArtes Expert Series 12.0 offers free faceted model repair for AM and 3D Printing. AM professionals and hobbyists alike can now prepare their problematic faceted 3D models for printing without any cost. Free View Expert includes the professional STL and VRML model repair tools traditionally available with licensed Expert Series versions, like 3Data Expert and 3DEdit Pro. Free View Expert with automatic repair will help all users get one step closer to enhanced 3D prints.
"The pricing and module structure of DeskArtes Expert Series software has been renewed to answer the needs of AM community as a whole. DeskArtes tools, like Dimensions Expert and 3Data Expert Lite, now offer an affordable price/performance ratio when compared to the annually licensed competing software solutions. Standard DeskArtes tools are always sold with permanent licenses, bringing significant cost savings to customers in less than two years," said a company spokesperson.
The AM Expert knowledge base tool enables automatic AM process selection for any part. The AM process is selected based on the technical requirements of the part to be produced. Users define the material, size, accuracy and tensile strength limits in an easy to use wizard-type interface. The result gives a list of professional AM systems capable of producing the desired component, including the possible post-processing options. AM Expert is sold as an option to the free View Expert. AM Expert has been developed with several international partners in the EIT Digital OEDIPUS project.
View Expert is a free solution for CAD/CAM professionals and hobbyists for checking and repairing 3D models for error free production with 3D printing systems. Optionally, AM Expert tool enables persons involved with marketing, design and manufacturing to find a suitable AM system for their manufacturing needs.
Dimensions Expert includes the most frequently needed tools for everyday data processing, like 3D model splitting, connecting and platform definition. The splitting functionality with the automatic generation of teeth, connectors and clearances between the split halves enables efficient STL model preparation at a reasonable cost for 3D printers with a smaller work space.
3Data Expert Lite provides standard tools for 3D Printing, namely CAD file conversion, faceted 3D model repair, model splitting, connecting, shrink wrapping, 3D Text, painting, 3D nesting, slicing and tool compensation as well as texturing for 3D color printing and additive manufacturing (AM).
3Data Expert is the DeskArtes' flagship solution to manufacturing engineers for efficient creation and manipulation of faceted models. 3Data Expert is a professional tool for preparing 3D models for AM applications. There are several commands for manipulation of both 3D surface models and 3D faceted models. These commands include surface triangulation, STL verification and repair, STL offsetting, splitting, connecting, decimation, smoothing, shrink wrapping, 3D nesting, Boolean and support generation, as well as model painting and texturing.
DeskArtes Sim Expert is a 3D geometry processing solution targeted to users of Simulation software products. With the new standard and native CAD input and triangulation functions, an optimal triangulation can be generated for metal and plastic molding simulation applications even more easily than before.
"DeskArtes 3Data Expert version 12.0 with free faceted model repair and AM Expert opens the doors of AM even to less experienced AM users and newcomers," said Ismo Mäkelä, CEO of DeskArtes. "Professional AM users benefit from the extensive 3D data preparation tools available with the licensed Expert Series tools, like 3Data Expert Lite and 3Data Expert. Advanced 3D nesting, Z compensation, slicing and tool compensation enable accurate end user part manufacturing with various AM processes."
