Brasfield & Gorrie recently completed construction on a new manufacturing facility in Anderson, SC, for Arthrex Inc. Arthrex is a global orthopedic medical device company headquartered in Naples, FL. Arthrex projects that the facility will create more than 1,000 new jobs in Anderson County during the next several years.
"The Arthrex project is a significant addition to the area's economy," said Brasfield & Gorrie Vice President and Division Manager Ben Barfield. "We are honored to build a relationship with this growing company."
The $36.1 million project includes a 250,000 sq. ft. medical device manufacturing building and a 30,000 sq. ft. central services building. The manufacturing building consists of 175,000 sq. ft. of manufacturing floor space and 20,000 sq. ft. of clean room assembly space for sterile packaging activities for all manufactured medical devices. The remainder of the building is a two-story office space for support staff.
The central services building houses a full-size commercial kitchen for preparing employee meals daily, an eight-room patient clinic for on-site healthcare and large training spaces for support staff.
The structures are located on a 220-acre site with room for future growth. The property also includes a 1,194-space parking area.
Brasfield & Gorrie's Greenville office managed the project and collaborated with architect LAI Design Group. The general contractor is also working on projects at the Camperdown mixed-use development in downtown Greenville and on Prisma Health Upstate's Multi-Specialty Ambulatory Care Center, among others.
