Impact Plastics Incorporated, a manufacturer of custom injected molded plastic products based in Erwin, TN, recently received its IATF 1649:2016 certification. "This opportunity will open up a new market for Impact Plastics, which has long been producing quality products for the aviation, electronics and appliance industries-as well as consumer and commercial products," said a company spokesperson.
"The team here at Impact Plastics is very excited to work with this new market segment," said Gerald O'Connor, Impact Plastics' President and CEO. "We recently received the IATF 16949:2016 certification to assure our automotive customers of our commitment to providing quality components."
The International Automotive Task Force (IATF) certification covers all areas of a supplier's automotive process to ensure the standardization and assessment of necessary quality controls for the automotive sector. With this certification, Impact Plastics can now supply several OEM Automotive companies with key components.
"Earning the IATF certification is an exciting accomplishment for our company," stated Amie Hutchison, Director Marketing and Sales at Impact Plastics. "Through the audit we have made improvements to our processes that will benefit all our customers, from every industry. These new standards make us a better partner for all our clients."
Impact Plastics' goal is to build their reputation as a valuable Tier 1 and Tier 2 partner for more OEM manufacturers that can grow their business and help them provide new employment opportunities within their community. The company was founded in 1987 and has been an established manufacturer of plastic injection molded components servicing more than 25 OEMs in several technical market segments.
The company offers a full line of services for its customers that includes engineering, R&D, in-house mold fabrication, finishing, assembly, secondary operations, pad printing, fiberglass and contract manufacturing.
"As a USA manufacturing company, Impact Plastic also has a strong commitment to quality and sustainability for all its products," said the spokesperson. "The company strives to be proactive in all its recycling of all raw materials-while also participating in returnable packaging programs with the customers. Each year, Impact Plastics produces less than 1% of scrap-which is a huge accomplishment for any manufacturing facility of this kind."
"Our goal is to be an exceptional member of our community as a company," said Hutchison. "We love the area wherein we do business, and we want to be a positive example for other companies by how we support and protect the region."
