Knee Mill with Rigid Tapping and Automatic Tool Changer
January 1, 2019
DynaPath Systems Inc. recently launched a new line of CNC knee mills featuring rigid tapping and automatic tool changing capabilities.
"DynaPath chose to implement rigid tapping and tool changing on a knee mill because these are two features previously unavailable on this type of machine and especially at this price point," said a company spokesperson. "Paired with our versatility in programming, we believe this is a game changer for garage shops, tool rooms and even production lines."
Versatile WinDelta Control System
The knee mill also features the new DynaPath WinDelta control, which offers ease-of-use for a range of operation styles. WinDelta system was designed to allow operators to run the machine in DRO mode, in semi-automatic mode, by conversational programming with DXF import and editing, as well as run standard G-code programs generated from any CAD/CAM, all on one control.
Tool Changer and Machine Specifications
The special tool changer on the machine features four tools in independent tool stations positioned around the spindle and is capable of performing a complete tool change within three seconds. The spindle runs up to 7,000 RPM and features direct drive with dual winding for better torque characteristics across the entire working range. The X-, Y- and Z-axis all feature direct drive configurations, incorporating AC servo motors with precision ball screws for enhanced dynamics and accuracy.
