ZEISS Brings Metrology Services and Inspection Expertise with New Center

ZEISS Metrology Services and Inspection in Chicago

ZEISS Industrial Quality Solutions has opened the latest metrology services center in Buffalo Grove, IL, near Chicago. "We continue to invest in new facilities like Buffalo Grove to offer a solution-based approach for local manufacturers. This additional Midwest location offers contract measuring services, support, training and project management," stated Al Chiasson, Vice President of Applications, Aftermarket and Metrology Services for Carl Zeiss Industrial Metrology, LLC. ZEISS offers metrology services in several regional areas including Boston, Charlotte, Detroit, Irvine, Minneapolis and Nashville.

"We have a lot of customers in the Chicago area, and we are excited to have a local presence to support them," said Doug Fitzgerald, Business Manager of metrology services for Carl Zeiss Industrial Metrology, LLC. "Beyond the measuring services, this facility allows us to offer our customers in the area several types of software training, including the different CALYPSO levels and the powerful PiWeb reporting software that connects machines together to control and analyze quality data."

ZEISS engineers onsite can provide programming, consulting and specialized training. A broad range of contact and optical measurement systems and sensors are available, including the latest addition to the ZEISS CMM lineup, the larger measuring range MICURA. Ideal for measuring intricate parts, the CMM has active scanning and submicron accuracy. For optical measurements, the O-INSPECT system features both optical and contact scanning for reliable 3-D accuracy. There are also the latest surface, form and geometry systems to round out inspection capabilities.
