Although the parts were just as old as the elevator, the Emerson team was able to analyze the roller chain and sprocket (that was provided by the customer) and work with its partners to identify a supplier of the chain. Since the sprocket was no longer mass-produced, the Emerson team was able to reverse-engineer specifications from the old sprocket for plans so custom work could be completed.
