Automation for Piranha Ironworkers
April 1, 2017
TigerStop has just introduced integrations for the Piranha Ironworker with SawGear, for accurate lengths when shearing, and with TigerStop, for a fully automated punch process. "The single operator Piranha Ironworker is an industry leader in ironworkers and the SawGear and TigerStop integrations now provide all the benefits of fully automated systems for new and existing Piranha Ironworker machines," said a company spokesperson.
TigerStop integrated a SawGear on the shear of a Piranha Ironworker. For accurate parts length, the Piranha operator can now simply enter a length into the SawGear controller and the stop moves to position. The operator then places material through the shear against the stop and cuts.
"SawGear has an angled pusher arm which can be easily adjusted to accommodate different material sizes. Shops that shear large quantities of different length parts per day, will experience savings in labor time, improved accuracy and increased output without having to invest in new machinery," said the spokesperson.
The TigerStop-Piranha Ironworker integration creates a fully automated punch. The TigerStop comes with the stop, back fence, table, plus an Advanced Interconnect Kit 2 (AIK2).
TigerStop allows users to download cut lists and run the tool with an incremental movement or pattern list. Users can also place material, enter a length, and use the TigerStop as an automated stop. Every time the material moves, the operator simply uses the foot pedal to cycle the tool.
