F. Zimmermann GmbH, based in Neuhausen auf den Fildern near Stuttgart, Germany, has announced the grand opening of its new branch in Wixom, MI. The milling machine specialist intends to expand its activities in the North American market.
Shareholder Frieder Gänzle stressed the company's resolve to be an even stronger and more reliable partner for its American customers. "Demand in the American aviation, aerospace and automotive industries is continuously growing," said Gänzle. "By opening this new branch, we are sending a strong message to our customers in these fast-growing industries that we will give them the best possible service."
The management team of Zimmermann Inc. consists of Matthias Tockook, who has worked for the company for 11 years, and Cornelius Kiesel, a longtime employee of the parent company in Neuhausen a.d.F., Germany.
Besides providing service to their traditional gantry customers, the staff of 13 will also focus on the new 5/6-axis FZH400 horizontal machining center (HMC), which is designed for efficient machining of structural components in the aerospace industry.
What made the location so attractive was the proximity of numerous suppliers in the Wixom area. The new facility covers 1,230 sq. m. (13,250 sq. ft.) and includes offices, spare parts storage and machine showroom. "Users will benefit from our local presence, fast deliveries of replacement parts and top-class service," said Managing Director Andreas Podiebrad. "Machine builders who cannot give the right kind of support do not have a chance in this market."
