Modular Chain Fixture Designed for Small and Medium Size Machine Shops

A standard 500 mm Royal Machine chain fixture with maximized adjustment in X, Y, and Z directions within the fixture envelope

Royal Machine & Tool has introduced a simplified and lower priced JS Series Modular Chain Fixture designed for 500 mm and 630 mm size tables.

"The timing was right for assisting small and medium size machine shops by expanding our current line of modular chain fixtures and introducing our simplified and affordably priced JS Modular Chain Fixture Series," said Guy Byrne, Senior Vice President & General Manager, Royal Machine & Tool.

"Royal Machine's newly simplified version, the JS Modular Chain Fixture Series, will be initially for 500 mm and 630 mm size tables to accommodate small volumes of parts or for specific part operations commonly produced in the small to medium size shops.

The new series simplified design will retain the same construction and strong gripping force found in the original modular chain fixture series while still providing ample amounts of adjustment. "Most importantly, the new series is lower priced to accommodate medium to smaller size manufacturers," said Byrne.

Royal Machine's current line of modular chain fixtures provide an infinite amount of adjustments in sizes ranging from 300 mm to 1,250 mm while offering unlimited adjustment in X, Y and Z inside the fixture envelope.

Modular chain fixtures have been a staple Royal Machine workholding product for over 30 years and require little or no maintenance. "They have been a staple fixture for the valve industries in having the capability and capacity to hold complete families of valve bodies in a single fixture with minimal changeover, resulting in the amount of details being reduced nearly in half," said Byrne. In lieu of the screw adjustment on the Vee Jaws, the Vee Jaws are adjusted via a stepper rail with an Acme serrated key, which still allows customers to record Vee Jaw placement for quick changeover on repeat jobs.
