Quad-Core Processor Power in Small Spaces
January 1, 2017
The fanless C6915 control cabinet industrial PC from Beckhoff offers scalable computing power with one, two or four processor cores in a compact design.
The upgraded C6915 control cabinet industrial PC from Beckhoff, which measures 48 x 164 x 119 mm (without mounting plate), is the most compact model in the Beckhoff Industrial PC (IPC) range. Through the low heat dissipation of the Intel Atom processors, this high performance Beckhoff IPC does not require a fan, despite its compact size. Offering a high degree of application flexibility, the storage medium can be an HDD, SSD or CFast card, as required, and the computing power is scalable to match the demand of the application.
Processors with one, two or four cores are now available:
- Intel Atom CPU, 1.46 GHz, 1 core
- Intel Atom CPU, 1.75 GHz, 2 cores
- Intel Atom CPU, 1.91 GHz, 4 cores.
The space-saving C6915 IPC is recommended for automation and control tasks in the medium performance range, as well as for motion applications and - due to the advanced processor platform - applications with more complex graphics requirements. "This addition means that the benefits of the multi-core Atom processors (cost-effective, low-loss and high-performance) are now available for the whole Beckhoff industrial PC range: as a CP67xx, CP27xx or CP37xx Panel PC (with single- or multi-touch and 5.7- to 24-inch displays), a CX5100 Embedded PC, and, most recently, as a C6915 or C6925 control cabinet IPC," said a company spokesperson.
