New Generation of Quick Jaw Change Chucks

SMW Autoblok has announced the KNCS-2G. "New features on this next generation quick jaw change chuck save time and money in repairs and upkeep, making it ideal for applications requiring high-speed and mass production," said a company spokesperson.

Improvements include additional seals and an improved lubrication system designed into the KNCS-2G for low maintenance and high efficiency. For example, additional channels and grease pockets in the jaw guide ways are built to allow the chuck to operate one shift longer before lubrication. Seals in the chuck body and base jaws of the KNCS-2G provide an extra defense against dust and debris. The chamfered guide ways of the KNCS-2G are designed to allow for a quick change of jaws, making it flexible for operations needing multiple jaw changes.

The ability to interchange with the KNCS-N offers additional flexibility by allowing existing master jaws to be used without sealing.

Like the original KNCS-N, the KNCS-2G also offers:

  • Flexibility
  • Minimal set up times
  • Repeatability
  • Accuracy and rigidity
  • Low loss of grip force
  • High speed without vibration.
