To further expand its resources to provide solution-based applications programming for coordinate measuring machines (CMMs), Carl Zeiss Industrial Metrology, LLC has acquired Coordinate Measurement Specialists, Inc. (CMS) in Novi, MI. "The company, now known as Carl Zeiss Metrology Services, Inc., will help solidify the commitment ZEISS has to providing local solutions to customers in the form of contract metrology services, training, technical support and application project management," said a company spokesperson.

Carl Zeiss Metrology Services, Inc. will apply its experience in providing applications programming solutions for its customers in North America with the additional strong resources of ZEISS behind it. "Working with enterprise automotive and aerospace companies is a key expertise and it has a highly skilled application engineering team with a rich history of project management," said the spokesperson. Carl Zeiss Metrology Services, Inc. is also a leading turnkey provider for metrology programming projects.

"CMS has been an outstanding business partner with ZEISS for over two decades. Its technical expertise matches very well with our solution-based and customer-centric environment," said Michael Kirchner, President, Carl Zeiss Industrial Metrology, LLC.

John and Karl Gauruder, who remain co-owners of the company, will continue to support and build upon the new Carl Zeiss Metrology Services, Inc.

"This acquisition is important in our ongoing commitment to provide value-added metrology services to our customers," said Al Chiasson, the new General Manager of Carl Zeiss Metrology Services, Inc.
