PC Based Robot Controller

EPSON Robots has announced the addition of the G- and RS-Series SCARA robots to the RC700A Controller platform. The RC700A controller can now be used with EPSON C4 6-axis, G-Series SCARA and RS-Series SCARA robots. With integrated options and PC based ease of use, the RC700A is designed to reduce development time and improve cycle times/throughput.

"With the RC700A, customers now get access to more powerful vision guidance (EPSON CV2 Vision), the ability to select the PC performance level they need for their application (Customer Supplied PC), access to more ease of use tools (EPSON RC+) and of course the advanced motion and I/O control capabilities they have come to depend on with EPSON based controllers," said Michael Ferrara, Director of EPSON Robots.

With over 200 different robot models to choose from, the RC700A can run both SCARA and 6-axis robot applications with or without a user supplied PC. Most core options run directly from the RC700A and no PC is required. "This gives users the best of both worlds with the open architecture, ease of use and expandability of Microsoft Windows while also providing real time performance for time critical components such as motion, cell logic and I/O control," said a company spokesperson.

All RC700A controllers come standard with EPSON RC+ Controls Software which includes feature wizards, point and click set-up, Jog and Teach panel, Integrated Source Level Debugger, EPSON SmartSense and many other features designed to help reduce overall development time. EPSON RC+ software and the RC700A controller offer fully integrated options including: Vision Guidance, Conveyor Tracking, Force Sensing, EtherNet/IP, DeviceNet, Profibus, .NET connectivity, GUI Builder for user made GUI's and more.
