DMG MORI Federal Services Achieves CMMC 2.0 Level 2 Certification

DMG MORI Federal Services, Inc., a provider of advanced manufacturing solutions for the U.S. federal government and defense sector, announced it has achieved Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) 2.0 Level 2, validating the company's robust cybersecurity posture and readiness to manage Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) in support of Department of War (DoW) missions.

"Earning CMMC 2.0 Level 2 certification is a testament to DMG MORI's deep commitment to cybersecurity, operational integrity, and mission readiness," said Mark Mohr, President of DMG MORI Federal Services. "This milestone strengthens our position as a trusted partner to the U.S. DoW and reaffirms our long-term commitment to advancing secure manufacturing capabilities right here in Illinois."

Achieved after a three-year company-wide effort, the CMMC 2.0 Level 2 certification confirms DMG MORI's compliance with 110 security controls derived from NIST SP 800-171 R2.

Key outcomes include:

  • Independent third-party verification: Certification through a CMMC-accredited third-party assessment organization (C3PAO)
  • Supply chain security and readiness: Ensuring that DMG MORI's advanced manufacturing platforms, automation systems, and digital infrastructure meet the DoW's highest standards for protecting sensitive data
  • Competitive differentiation: Establishing DMG MORI as one of the few global advanced manufacturing firms capable of supporting high-security, dual-use defense applications.

"CMMC 2.0 Level 2 represents more than just a compliance milestone-it reflects DMG MORI's long-term investment in America's manufacturing and defense resilience," said Mohr. "Our cybersecurity framework now stands among the most advanced in the industry, empowering us to help build a more secure and innovative industrial base."

The certification reinforces DMG MORI's broader role in positioning Illinois as a national leader in advanced manufacturing, innovation, and defense production.

Headquartered in northern Illinois, DMG MORI is part of a growing ecosystem of companies and research institutions driving the next generation of manufacturing excellence. By achieving CMMC 2.0 Level 2, DMG MORI enhances the state's competitive advantage in attracting high-security defense and aerospace manufacturing, while supporting federal priorities under the CHIPS and Science Act and National Defense Authorization Act to rebuild U.S. industrial capacity.

"Investing in this certification process reflects our confidence in Illinois' advanced manufacturing future," added Mohr. "With world-class talent, strong public-private partnerships, and a culture of innovation, Illinois is poised to lead the nation in secure, high-technology manufacturing."
