Kitamura Machinery has expanded on its horizontal machining center (HMC) line up with the Mycenter-HX500iG/630. Manufactured in Japan with craftsmanship in hand scraping techniques and in-house induction hardened solid box ways, the Mycenter-HX500iG/630G offers ultra-high speed rapids of 60 m/min (2,362 IPM).
"The Mycenter-HX500iG/630 is designed specifically for manufacturers and job shops that need to produce close tolerance parts from the toughest of materials, providing both the high precision and high volume manufacturing capabilities needed for larger parts production in the aerospace, automotive, energy manufacturing, heavy construction and similar medium to large part machining industries," said a company spokesperson.
HX500iG/630
The Mycenter-HX500iG/630 offers an extra-large work envelope X-axis = 870 mm (34.4"), Y-axis = 800 mm (31.5") and Z-axis = 930 mm (36.6") within a space saving, compact footprint. "Maximum workpiece diameter of O800 mm (O31.5 inches), maximum workpiece height of 1,100 mm (43.3") gives the size and performance comparable to 630 mm HMCs offered by the competition," said a Kitamura spokesperson. A newly available 630 mm table option offers additional workholding possibilities.
Standard for heavy duty cutting is a 54 HP, 12,000 RPM, #50 taper, 4-step geared, dual contact spindle that has the ability to handle a variety of exotic materials and offers enhanced speed and performance. An optional high speed 8,000 RPM spindle offers max. spindle torque of 1225.9 nm (904.2 ft-lbs.). A high speed, #40 20,000 RPM, 4-step geared dual contact spindle is an available option.
HX500iG/630G
A 2-station APC is automation ready and field expandable up to a 14-station pallet pool for unmanned operation potential. FMS connectivity is an available option. The standard full 4th axis rotary table is newly designed (3.3 times faster than the previous model) with an integral drive motor enabling speeds of 120 RPM (43,200 deg/min) rapids, reducing part cycle times, eliminating backlash and providing a rigid machining platform. High resolution direct rotary encoder scale feedback minimizes displacement even at outer edges of the table limit.
A 62-tool fixed pot (assures tools are always returned to the same pot and the next tool to be used is kept in a "stand-by" pot) ATC allows for the addition of up to 212 tools in the field. A fast 2.2 sec. tool-to-tool change contributes to the reduction in overall cycle time.
"Ultra-high precision means enhanced positioning accuracy of ±0.002 mm (±0.000079")/full stroke with 67 million pulse encoder technology - delivering 67 times finer resolution, 67 times better finish accuracy all day long. Superb reliability is paramount in high production environments and the Mycenter-HX500iG/630 brings it with twin ball screws and motors in the X and Y axes, ball screw cooling in all axes along with state-of-the-art fine resolution (10 nm) optical linear scale feedback in X, Y, Z linear axes," said the spokesperson.
Kitamura's interactive touchscreen icon driven Arumatik-Mi control offers user friendly, unique features such as on-demand "HELP" guidance, visual work setting, maintenance support functions and a 19" swivel color LCD to easily guide the user in a completely customizable control environment. SSS Control is designed to deliver high speed processing of 270 m/min feed with 1 mm/block, 4,500 blocs/sec for smooth and fast machining. Anywhere-Remote E-mail status update technology allows the user to automatically receive live machine production data anywhere, anytime via email to desktop, smartphones and mobile devices based on pre-set variables. Software upgrades are available throughout the life of the control.
