Haas Factory Outlet-A Division of Midwest Machinery Resources, LLC (aka HFO/Chicago) recently celebrated the grand opening of its new, larger, Chicago Tech Center in Elk Grove Village. The event included a ribbon cutting ceremony with ownership, management and local government officials taking part.
"Visible to those traveling East along I-90, the new HFO/Chicago Tech Center is located in one of the most densely populated manufacturing hubs in the U.S.," said a company spokesperson. According to Tim Taylor, Vice President of HFO/Chicago, the 18,500 sq. ft standalone facility offers 35% more space than its previous facility, which was located less than a mile away.
The Tech Center's unique layout provides ample space for administrative offices spread out amongst two floors, a showroom with enough floor space to power up a dozen Haas CNC machine tools, and a service and parts department with over $2.0 million worth of spare parts on-hand. The Tech Center also features a rear entrance for local manufacturers to pick up parts, and a training room for both operator and maintenance classes.
During the grand opening celebration, HFO/Chicago took the opportunity to demonstrate a range of solutions to help customers "Step Up to Automation." Automation demonstrations included: three Haas CNC machines integrated with robots, a Haas drill/tap machining center integrated with a Midaco Pallet Shuttle, two Haas CNC lathes integrated with Haas bar feeders and two Haas machining centers featured trunnion rotary tables for 5-axis machining, one of which was the top-spec Haas UMC 750 universal machining center.
