HMC with Infinite Contouring B-Axis Table

Utilizing its experience in providing system machining solutions to the global automotive OEMs, tier suppliers and commercial / off-road vehicles, MAG will debut its MMH 500 horizontal machining center (HMC) for the general market at IMTS 2018.

"Located in Sterling Heights, MI, with sister plants in Germany, China and India, MAG engineers designed the MMH 500 with precision, power, performance and productivity in mind," said a MAG spokesperson. "All MMH machines come standard with 60 m/min linear axis speed and 12,000 RPM direct drive spindle (optional 15,000 RPM), which results in more machine throughput per spindle and high-speed cutting capabilities. The high-pressure coolant through tool / spindle-ready feature is also included, providing flexibility for application changes with the ability to have 1,000 PSI at a small upgrade cost. The large tool capacity realizes more application possibilities on one machine."

The MAG MMH 500's standard infinite contouring B-axis table delivers higher precision part cutting without having to add this typically expensive option. The machine is 480V connection-ready and requires no isolation transformers. MAG's MMH 500 is built with North American controls design and safety standards, which fully conforms to the latest U.S., Canadian and Mexican safety standards. "The MAG MMH 500 is built in Sterling Heights, MI, with high quality MAG USA craftsmanship," said the spokesperson.

"MAG is a member of FFG global machine tool conglomerate, which is the third largest machine tool group in the world," said the spokesperson.

Besides the MMH 500 horizontal machining center, MAG will also exhibit its SPECHT 600 HMC equipped with gantry robot, as well as Saginaw Machine's AC-300-1 vertical lathe, which is also crafted in MAG's Sterling Heights, MI, facility. FFG will showcase 13 of its CNC equipment of various types from its global brands.
