The latest editions of Vero Software's robust Edgecam, Radan, Surfcam and WorkNC computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) solutions will be exhibited at SOUTH-TEC.
Visitors to SOUTH-TEC will be able to learn more about the four solutions where demonstrations of the latest time-saving features in each system will be presented.
Edgecam 2017 R2 and Surfcam 2017 R2 introduce a new turning cycle that includes B-axis movements while machining on a turning center. This new feature allows greater accessibility when machining complex profiles by dynamically positioning the insert.
The toolholder is gouge-protected during deployment, and the user can have additional control over the toolpath by deploying override angles. This new cycle can be used with all types of turning tools and for both roughing and finishing operations.
"There are about 20 items of new and enhanced functionality in Edgecam 2017 R2, including those for turning, milling, simulation and wire EDM," said a company spokesperson.
"The 2017 release of Radan, Vero Software's powerful sheetmetal solution, delivers time-saving enhancements and paves the way for the most significant new developments in the solution's history," continued the spokesperson. Developers are now working on separating Radan into two distinct aspects: traditionally creating NC code to drive CNC machines, and the engineering of parts.
In Radan 2017, Radmanager's ability to manage both 2-D and 3-D engineering of parts is the precursor to the entirely new upcoming engineering system for any type of parts, including 5-axis laser-cut sheet metal, tubes, flat and bent parts. This will enable manufacturers to break assemblies down from CAD systems and into their parts to fully understand everything about them.
WorkNC 2017 R2 includes a new Parallel Finishing toolpath that makes use of the innovative Advanced Toolform technology, which offers efficient high-feed cutter management. Toolpath calculations are based on the real shape of the cutter, which is designed to provide optimal surface quality and machining times reduced by up to 80%.
The Die Flats Finishing toolpath now features a new option that enables radial stepovers to ensure a fluid trajectory and the elimination of sharp angles, which results in improved surface quality and reduced machining times.
"WorkNC has long been recognized for its standard collision detection functions, covering machining environment, toolholder, stock and the machining center to secure toolpaths. This latest version further enhances process security by systematically calculating collisions and out-of-limit conditions," said the spokesperson.
