Mazak Southwest Event to Showcase Innovations in Oil and Gas Part Production

Mazak SLANT TURN NEXUS 550
Mazak invites oil and gas and other large part manufacturers to its Discover More With Mazak event that is taking place January 15 - 16 from 10 AM to 7 PM at the company's Southwest Technology Center in Houston, TX. "Attendees will have the opportunity to experience the latest and most innovative metalworking solutions for the growing energy industry as well as learn new machining techniques for boosting productivity and profitability," said a company spokesperson.
At the event, the company will demonstrate the latest milling, turning, 5-axis and multitasking processes on new Mazak machines that include:
- The heavy-duty SLANT TURN NEXUS 500 turning center with a 10.8" diameter bore for machining large, long shaft workpieces
- MEGATURN NEXUS 1600M vertical turning center with multitasking functionality for efficient large part production
- QUICK TURN NEXUS 450-II MY with a long boring bar and long vertical mill for processing large parts in single set-ups
- QUICK TURN NEXUS 550 MY with a 14.7" spindle bore, an upper turret with rotary tool milling as well as Y-axis capability for processing large parts in single set-ups.
Application engineers and Mazak Value Inspired Partners will be available throughout the event to answer questions and discuss all aspects of the manufacturing process, including cutting tools, workholding, software and automation. "Mazak encourages attendees to present their toughest part-production challenges so its engineers and technicians can offer unique solution ideas for overcoming such difficulties," said the spokesperson.
Mazak will also give technical presentations on "5 Levels of Multi-Tasking" to highlight how the company can meet customers' machining requirements with its comprehensive selection of multitasking machine configurations.
The 30,000 sq. ft. Mazak Southwest Technology Center is located at 10950 Greenbend Blvd. in Houston, TX, which is part of the Greenspoint District, a community 15 miles north of downtown Houston and minutes from the Bush Intercontinental Airport.
