Ganesh Machinery, Inc. offers its Cyclone series of multitasking CNC lathes for complete machining in one handling.
The Cyclone GTS twin-opposed spindle slant-bed CNC lathe features dual-parallel gang tool slides. It is available with up to 1-5/8" bar capacity and features simultaneous front and backside machining using twin independent gang tooled cross slides. A C-axis provides for full 6-axis capability for milling on both the main and sub-spindle and allows for the transfer of hex, square and extruded shaped bar stock. The 7,200 lb. Cyclone GTS features ribbed cast iron construction to dampen cutting vibration. Twin 10 HP integral Mitsubishi spindle motors drive the 6,000 RPM spindles. Both the main and sub-spindle use hydraulically actuated Brown & Sharpe 22 and Traub A-32 dead length collets for part transfer and simultaneous front and backside machining. Additional workholding opportunities include a 5" hydraulic chuck, 5C and 16C collet chucks. Rigid tapping, parts catcher, parts conveyor, air-blast and dual coolant systems are all included.
When a Y-axis is necessary, or where there is need for more complex milling geometry, Ganesh offers the 7-axis Cyclone CS-32 with simultaneous front and backside machining capability. It features 27 tool positions, including 11 ER-20 collet 1/2" capacity driven tool spindles. The 6,000 RPM, 10 HP main spindle motor provides the power to machine with the 1-3/8" bar capacity spindle. Both the main and sub-spindle use hydraulically actuated Brown & Sharpe 22 and Traub A-32 dead-length collets for accurate part transfer and simultaneous front and backside machining.
When a B-axis is a requirement for working angle features Ganesh offers the 9-axis Cyclone BY-2, which provides 12 B-axis tools that can also perform cross and axial milling on the main and sub-spindle. There is a separate Y-axis tool slide for the main spindle and sub-spindle. Twin 20 HP integral spindle motors drive the 6,000 RPM spindles featuring 2" bar capacity. The Cyclone BY2 provides 36 tool positions with 18 driven tools for simultaneous machining.
When putting more tools in the cut is a requirement, Ganesh offers the 11-axis Cyclone 3TMY CNC lathe with three tool turrets, each with 16 tool stations for a total of 48 tools. Each tool station can have a driven tool powered by the 7.5 HP live tool motor, and each tool station can have more than one cutting tool. Up to 30 HP is available for the main spindle to machine 2-3/4" barstock when all three turrets are in the cut simultaneously. There is also a twin-turret version of the machine and both two and three turret versions are available in 2" bar capacity.
